Adam Copeland Leaned Into Wrestling For His Role In ‘Percy Jackson And The Olympians’

Adam Copeland tapped into his wrestling roots for Percy Jackson and The Olympians.

The AEW star plays Ares in the series, and while he is no stranger to the acting world, the veteran leaned on wrestling for his role because he had to be larger-than-life.

Speaking with The Koalition Entertainment, Adam Copeland discussed this mindset and noted that in wrestling, everything has to be big, which was also true of Ares.

“Ares is a little bit of wrestling, and that helped,” Adam Copeland said. “You’re playing a god. So you have to be larger than life, you have to be big. That’s exactly what wrestling is. You have to amplify things to possibly 80,000 people away, so it has to big. Everything has to be big, and Ares is big. So it came in handy to kind of dip into my wrestling playbook for it.”
