WWE wants to re-sign Cody Rhodes to a long-term extension, according to a new report.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that WWE is looking to re-sign Cody Rhodes to a long-term contract extension imminently. The report notes that WWE has engaged in talks with Rhodes about the deal.
While the terms are not known, sources expect Rhodes to get a notable raise. Sapp writes that the extension is a priority of TKO, and sources are confident that the two sides will reach a deal eventually.
The report also notes that Rhodes recently got a new bus. While some thought that meant he re-signed, the deal has not been finalized.
Cody Rhodes has been featured as one of WWE’s top stars since he returned to the company at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. He won the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble, and he headlined WrestleMania 39. There, he lost to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Rhodes is currently feuding with Shinsuke Nakamura on WWE RAW.
WWE has reportedly signed Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik Mysterio in recent weeks.
