Aubrey Edwards: The Pillars Can Change, Ricky Starks Is Putting Himself In There

Ricky Starks is one of the fastest-rising stars in AEW. He is currently one of the AEW World Tag Team Champions along with Big Bill. Recently, the Jacksonville-based promotion’s official Aubrey Edwards shared her thoughts on Starks.

During a recent episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Aubrey Edwards shared her thoughts on The Absolute One. Edwards claimed that Ricky Starks is one of the future stars of the promotion and he could be one of the pillars of All Elite Wrestling.

“I feel like we’re just seeing the start of Ricky Starks at AEW. He’s one of our future stars. There’s been so much talk about ‘the pillars’ forever, but I think you can kind of change them out. And I think Ricky Starks might be coming in making some construction and putting himself in there.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

“[Starks] is just one of those guys that when he comes out, people just know that he’s a big deal, and because he is,” Edwards said. “He’s put in the work and he’s gotten there. Doing a Texas death match on TV is hard. Doing it after a phenomenal pay-per-view match is even harder, and the dude excels.” [H/T Wrestling Inc.]

Ricky Starks claims he and Big Bill don’t know much about each other but they get along

As mentioned above, Starks and Big Bill are the current AEW World Tag Team Champions. When they started their tag team journey, Ricky Starks shared his thoughts on Big Bill. He spoke during an episode of the Black Rasslin’ Podcast, mentioning that both stars do not know much about each other but they get along well, and thus this tag team is working smoothly.

“Me and Big Bill barely know each other,” Ricky Starks revealed. “He don’t even know my birthday. I don’t know his, but we get along, and we’re tag team champions, you know what I’m saying? That’s the beauty of it. I barely know this man from Schmitt, and we are tag team champions.

“We got people who are literal blood brothers, people who have been friends for ten years. They can’t win a match to save their lives. So that’s that. Bill is great. I think Bill is cool as hell. I’m getting to know him.

“We got together, saw him at the airport, had a cup of coffee. I said, you’re cool, man; I’ll catch you at work. That’s how I started. From what I know, and I talked to him and stuff like that. He’s got some good style. Check out the Tim’s; you know what I’m saying?”
