Big Bill is leaving AEW.
According to Fightful Select, Big Bill’s contract with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire next week. He has also given notice to the company that he’s leaving.
The report also states that the former Big Cass is “poised to return to WWE.” There are reportedly plans for his former tag team partner, Enzo Amore, to be signed as well, although he had not officially signed a deal as of mid-June.
Fightful Select cited WWE sources who said the company wanted to wait until Big Bill was free and clear before signing both wrestlers.
Big Bill was a tag team star in WWE
Cass and Amore rose to prominence together in WWE’s NXT before making their main roster debut in 2016. The duo quickly became one of the company’s most popular tag teams thanks to their charisma and memorable promos. They challenged for the RAW Tag Team Championship on multiple occasions. Their partnership ended in 2017 when Cass turned on Amore. This led to a brief singles feud before injuries and subsequent releases ended both men’s WWE runs.
Big Bill signed with AEW in 2022 after making a handful of appearances for the promotion. During his time with the company, he initially aligned with Stokely Hathaway. He later became a member of Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree faction. He also enjoyed championship success, capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside Ricky Starks, who now competes in WWE as Ricky Saints.
Bill’s last AEW television appearance came on the February 7 episode of AEW Collision, where he competed in an eight-man tag team Parking Lot Fight.
