SBJ Predicts Amazon Will Get WWE RAW Media Rights

WWE RAW‘s media rights are up for negotiations, and one prediction points to a new destination.

John Ourand of Sports Business Journal has shared his predictions for 2024, and one of them is sure to spark buzz in the wrestling world. Ourand predicted that Amazon would land the WWE RAW media rights. He wrote that this scenario would see RAW stay on Monday nights, but it would air on Prime Video, rather than television. Ourand highlighted how RAW’s audience of young males is a demographic where Amazon believes they see growth in Prime subscriptions.

Also of note, Ourand predicted that ESPN will renew its deal with UFC. Additionally, he envisioned a potential scenario where Disney lands a deal with TKO that would involve both UFC and WWE RAW, which would land on FX. Ourand stated that this would become likely if WWE was unable to find enough money from the parties who want WWE RAW. However, Ourand noted that it looks like one company will step up for that deal.

WWE has already landed new deals for SmackDown (USA Network) and NXT (The CW Network). RAW’s rights are set to expire in October 2024. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

TKO President Mark Shapiro previously commented on the negotiations for WWE RAW. Check out his comments here.
