Will Ospreay Loses Final NJPW Singles Match To Kazuchika Okada At Battle In The Valley

Will Ospreay battled Kazuchika Okada one last time at NJPW Battle in the Valley.

At AEW Full Gear, Will Ospreay was revealed as AEW’s newest signing. He said he would be finishing up with NJPW before he joined the company, as his contract was up in February. In Ospreay’s last NJPW singles match, he clashed with Kazuchika Okada at NJPW Battle in the Valley, as they battled it out in the main event.

Okada ultimately emerged victorious in a match that went nearly half an hour. The two stars threw everything they had at each other, as Ospreay hit the Stormbreaker and Okada’s own Rainmaker. Likewise, Okada planted Ospreay with the Stormbreaker and clinched the win with the Rainmaker. Okada helped Ospreay to his feet after the bell, and they emotionally embraced. Ospreay and Okada have wrestled 10 times since 2015, and Okada picked up his eighth win in the series on Saturday.

Bullet Club War Dogs attacked both men after the bell, but United Empire and Eddie Kingston made the save. Ospreay then grabbed a microphone and addressed the crowd. After praising Okada, he looked back on his time with NJPW. He thanked the fans and noted that the United States would be his new home, so they would get to know him well in the next few years.

Ospreay also hyped up his final NJPW match, which is set for February 11. He will team up with United Empire to battle Bullet Club War Dogs in a Steel Cage Match.
