The Best Friends and the Lucha Bros are still dealing with injuries, so adjustments were made ahead of AEW Dynamite.
In a tweet, AEW shared a clip in which Renee Paquette interviewed the Best Friends and the Lucha Bros prior to Wednesday’s show. She noted that there was supposed to be a tag team match between the two teams, but injuries seemed to be “plaguing” both teams. Trent Beretta noted that Chuck Taylor was hurt worse than they thought. Taylor said that his ankle was jammed up. As a result, Orange Cassidy took his place in the match.
Meanwhile, Rey Fenix appeared during the interview. While his injury was not addressed, he was replaced in the match by Komander. Fenix last wrestled on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he lost to Cassidy. Likewise, Taylor has not wrestled since the October 6 episode of AEW Rampage (taped on October 4).
