MJF Wraps Filming On ‘The Floaters’

AEW star Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF, has landed a new movie role.

Andreas Wiseman of Deadline reports that MJF is part of the cast of The Floaters, a Jewish summer camp comedy that recently wrapped filming in New York. Jackie Tohn and Sarah Podemski lead the cast of the film, which is directed by Rachel Israel. The lineup also includes Aya Cash, Judah Lewis, Nina Bloomgardn, Jake Ryan, and Seth Green, among others.

Jackie Tohn (GLOW) and Sarah Podemski (Reservation Dogs) lead cast in Jewish summer camp comedy Floaters, which has recently wrapped filming in New York. Wiseman notes that the movie follows Nomi, a struggling musician who gets a job at a Jewish summer camp.

The Floaters is written by Brent Hoff and Andra Gordon and Amelia Brain. It is produced by Becky Korman, Kily Korman, and Shai Korman of K180, along with Andra Gordon of Athena Pictures.

MJF last wrestled at AEW Worlds End, where he lost the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe. He was dealing with injuries heading into the bout, and he is now taking time off to heal. It is not known when he will return to AEW programming.

Previously, MJF had a brief role in The Iron Claw, as he played Lance Von Erich.
