AEW World Title Match Set For AEW Revolution

The AEW World Championship match at AEW Revolution 2024 has been made official.

The February 7 episode of AEW Dynamite opened with a number one contender’s match pitting the top-ranked Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland against each other in an extension of their months-long rivalry.

Their third encounter was not exclusively in-ring as they utilized the ringside area on numerous occasions. Prince Nana was also a factor in Strickland’s corner until Page hit him with a chair toward the end. Despite Strickland’s tweaked ankle, he still managed to hit Dead Eye on Page through a table on the outside.

Back inside, Strickland was able to hit Page with his sit-out finisher. But as he went for the cover, the bell rang to indicate that they reached a 30-minute time-limit draw. Strickland grabbed a mic and requested five more minutes, while Page rejected that idea since Strickland was unable to beat him.

Tony Schiavone ultimately interrupted and announced that Tony Khan has deemed them both number one contenders and both will challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship in a three-way match at AEW Revolution on March 3.

Below is the updated lineup for Revolution:

  • AEW World Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Deonna Purrazzo
  • AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Roderick Strong
  • Sting’s retirement match

WrestleZone will have complete coverage of the pay-per-view as it airs.
