At AEW Revolution, Eddie Kingston defeated Bryan Danielson and retained the AEW Continental Crown Championship. Danielson then shook his hand after the match.
In a digital exclusive, Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts following his loss.
“I thought it would hurt me more than anything to shake Eddie’s hand,” Danielson said. “But there was a moment in that match where I knew I f*cked up his wrist. I’m good at that. I’m good at f*cking people up. I know exactly how hurt he was, and he fought through it.
“There was this internal moment, this internal click, that Eddie me not respecting Eddie, it wasn’t Eddie. All the things that we said about Eddie 20 years ago, about how potential he had, about how he needed to work harder, and how he needed to change his habits, all of that, it took him a while. But he f*cking did it.”
Bryan Danielson: I Should Have Given Eddie Kingston My Respect Long Ago
Bryan Danielson went on to note that he had been petty, and he should have given Eddie Kingston his respect a long time ago.
“Here I was, holding on to this petty f*cking bullshit, and I realized it might have taken him longer, but the things that he’s battled through, the things that he’s struggled, I should have given him my respect a long time ago,” Bryan Danielson said. “Dude, he earned it, and me not seeing that, that’s on me.
“But in the same way that Eddie can get past some of his struggles, I can get past mine too. Tonight, I’m proud of Eddie, but I’m also proud of me seeing through my bullshit. When you can do that, then you get to the other side. I might have lost, but I feel good.”
