Long before CM Punk was calling himself “The Best in the World,” he was cutting his teeth while he was a teenager.
In a tweet, Best of CM Punk (@BestOfCMPunk) shared a clip in which Punk, as a teenager, cuts a wrestling promo for the Lunatic Wrestling Federation.
“I’m Superman. In the LWF, you get a belt, Mr. Smith holds a belt,” CM Punk said. “I’m Superman. I am proclaiming myself as Superman of the LWF. There’s nothing you or you can do about it. I’m Superman. I can do anything. Throw me in a battle royal, I’ll win. No one can beat Superman, and I am Superman.”
The video also shows a clip of Punk calling himself Superman and hitting someone with a bat.
Many years later, CM Punk has become one of the top stars in the wrestling world. He has won the world title in both WWE and AEW. Punk returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023. He suffered a torn triceps in the Royal Rumble match, and he is set to be sidelined for the next several months.
