Triple H Reiterates That He Is Retired From In-Ring Competition, Doesn’t Have Any Regrets

Triple H shoots down the idea that he could get back in the ring.

Trople H had surgery after he suffered a cardiac event in September 2021 and was sidelined for several months. He ultimately returned to work and was later promoted to WWE Chief Content Officer, and he has been leading the company forward.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H was asked whether he was able to work out and potentially get back in the ring.

“No, I don’t think so,” Triple H said. “Yeah, no, I don’t think so. I don’t think I should be taking bumps around. I’ve got a jump-starter, so that’s all good. That’s a backup system if anything goes bad, which could happen to anybody at any given time. So I got a back-up system. You don’t want to unplug the wires.”

Triple H Says He Wanted To Be Done Anyway

After McAfee noted that he sometimes forgets that Triple H can’t get physical, the WWE Chief Content Officer made it clear that he was “totally good” with it. He stated that he did not have any regrets.

“It’s funny because sometimes people will say, ‘Oh, man, I’m sorry, I forgot you can’t.’ I’m totally good with that. I rode until the wheels fell off, almost literally. I’m great with that, and I was at a place where I should have been retiring anyway, I was in a place in my mind where I wanted to be done with it.

“The last year right before this all happened, I had been asked to go to WrestleMania two days, I need you. ‘Hey, you can work with anybody you want.’ I had said, ‘I don’t think I want to do it.’ And ‘Oh, please think about it, let’s just do it. Please think about it.’ I had thought about it and was gonna go back and say I’m not doing it, and then I had to not do it. So I was already there. I’m good with it. I have zero regrets.”
