Hammerstone: TNA Showed They See Value In Me From Day One

Alex Hammerstone talks signing with TNA Wrestling.

The former MLW World Champion officially signed with TNA in February after making his debut at Hard To Kill in January. Ahead of his rubber match against Josh Alexander at Rebellion, Hammerstone recently appeared on the Battleground Podcast to speak about why he decided to “cross the line.”

“Obviously, there are a lot of things involved,” Hammerstone said. “At the end of the day, this is a job and we’re looking to make a certain amount of money. That being said, when there are different companies all throwing the same kind of numbers at you — what TNA did different was, they brought me in at Hard To Kill, they put me on pay-per-view, they gave me 20 minutes to go out there and wrestle the way I wanted to wrestle against one of their top guys at one of their top shows of the year.

“It showed from day one, ‘Hey, this is the value we put in you, this is the amount we respect you and what you’ve done. This is the trust we have.’ Then after that night, the positive feedback I got from fans and from different news outlets after that show. Not to mention the experience I had in the locker room and working with everyone backstage. It was just great, top to bottom, it was everything you could hope for.”

Hammerstone noted he was ready to sign with TNA when talks first started, but he wanted to make sure they offered what he wanted.

He added, “When we got in talks, I was pretty much already decided, as long as they were offering what I wanted, I had decided this was the place I wanted to continue wrestling. When we were able to get to those terms, it was pretty much a done deal for me.”

Alexander defeated Hammerstone at Hard To Kill, but then Hammerstone got a win back over “Walking Weapon” at TNA Sacrifice in March. WrestleZone will have complete coverage of TNA Rebellion on April 20 when the two collide again.
