Jack Perry Wears ‘Cry Me A River’ Jacket, Goes For GTS At NJPW Windy City Riot

Jack Perry took multiple shots at CM Punk at NJPW Windy City Riot.

Jack Perry has been absent from AEW since he was involved in a backstage incident with CM Punk at AEW All In. Following the incident, Punk’s contract was terminated, and Perry was suspended. The confrontation has been in the spotlight again, as CM Punk opened up about it in an interview, and AEW revealed the footage on the April 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.

At NJPW Windy City Riot in Punk’s hometown of Chicago on April 12, Jack Perry referenced him in a variety of ways. He wore a jacket that had “Cry me a river” written on the back, which referred to what he said at AEW All In. Perry also carried a Chicago flag to the stage with him.

The fans joined in on the fun, as they sang, “Oh, cry me a river” shortly after Umino and Perry got in the ring.

The crowd also chanted “You got choked out” and “No, you didn’t”, in another clear reference to the incident at AEW All In.

Late in the match, Jack Perry did a GTS taunt and went for Punk’s signature move. Umino countered and ultimately hit the Death Rider for the win. After the bell, Perry offered Umino a handshake and raised his arm.
