Lyra Valkyria Says WWE Main Roster Call-Up ‘Does Not Feel Real’

Lyra Valkyria is in disbelief.

On night one of their 2024 Draft, WWE revealed that WWE NXT talent Kiana James was officially moving up to their main roster as a part of the Raw brand. On night two, the company confirmed that former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria would be following suit as a new member of the Raw brand as well.

Following the confirmation of her main roster call-up, Valkyria spoke with Raw correspondent Jackie Redmond in a digital exclusive. There, Valkyria admitted that this move came as a major surprise to her.

“It means absolutely everything to me [to move to ‘Raw’],” Valkyria said. “Thank you so much to everyone here. I can’t believe my NXT time is over. How can I leave this? For real though. This does not feel real.”

While continuing to absorb this news, Valkyria also delivered a message to her new Raw locker room mates.

“I’m not sure my heart is beating, but to the women of the RAW locker room, I just have one thing to say. I’m a former NXT Women’s Champion. I’ve already conquered this world, and now on Monday nights, I’m coming to conquer yours,” she said

Valkyria first arrived to WWE in early 2020, where she was assigned to the WWE NXT UK brand. The Irish-born star spent nearly three years under the umbrella of NXT UK before making the move to the United States-based NXT brand in late 2022. Upon joining NXT, Valkyria found herself quickly rising through the rankings, eventually winning the NXT Women’s Championship in October 2023. This reign would span 165 days before Roxanne Perez dethroned Valkyria at the 2024 NXT Stand & Deliver event.
