The Sandman Recalls His Time As Chippendale’s Dancer, Got Fired For Soliciting

The Sandman had a crazy life, but nobody would have guessed he was a Chippendale’s dancer.

The ECW legend has a past filled with drugs, alcohol and controversy. However, nobody could have expected what would come out of his mouth in the latest episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

A clip of the latest episode was released on Twitter, titled “Enter Sandman: Legacy of a Hardcore Icon”. This video shows The Sandman talking about his time as a Chippendale’s dancer.

He explained he was scouted in a club by the group’s director, but was eventually fired and almost arrested for soliciting during his time as a dancer.

“Thursday nights were ten bucks, all you could drink. So, I’m out there. I’m on the dance floor. Some blonde comes up and starts dancing with me, grabs me by my hand and starts walking me across the dance floor. I’m like ‘Alright. Where am I going to go and have sex with this chick?’. That’s exactly what I’m thinking. We end up going up these stairs. We’re in this little freaking office, and I’m like ‘Well, how am i going to do this in this little office?’.

“She goes, ‘take your shirt off’.  I’m thinking, ‘How am I going to screw her?’. She goes ‘listen. I’m a producer/director for the Chippendale’s. I want you to be a Chippendale.’ I was one of those guys who wore the black pants, tight pants, the cuffs and the collar, and I just entertained the women. I don’t leave the club until two o’clock in the morning. You’re snorting coke with the boys down in the locker room because that’s just what you did back in them days.”

The Sandman Was Fired For Soliciting

The Sandman continued. He revealed that he was fired for soliciting, with the police threatening him with arrest unless he quit the group. This ended his stint as a dancer, allowing him to eventually move into professional wrestling. A good choice, I think.

“Then I go out to the after hours club. Then I go to the club that opened up at 6am. It was just crazy, man. That was my job for the next year or so, until I got fired for soliciting. They weren’t paying a lot of money, and I had like four guys in it with me. So it was 100 bucks to do us, there was the Alpine Inn down the street, that was $42.50.

“So it cost $100 for us, $42.50 for the Alpine Inn for however long it took. And that lasted for about six months. One day, there were a couple of state troopers, and they’re like, ‘listen, we can file some charges, or you can quit and tell us who your boys are’. I said ‘I’m not telling you who my boys are, it’s your job to figure that out, but I’ll quit’. So, I was done.”
