Christian Cage On Teaming Up With Adam Copeland: I’m Done Carrying Him, He’s A Loser

Christian Cage dismisses the possibility of teaming up with Adam Copeland again.

Christian Cage has cemented his status as one of AEW’s top heels over the past year-plus. His former tag team partner, Adam Copeland, joined the company in October 2023. They feuded for months, and Copeland ultimately beat Cage to win the TNT Championship on the March 20 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Speaking at Steel City Con (via Fandom Spotlite), Christian Cage was asked whether he would ever reunite with Copeland.

“Is that a serious question? Why would I team up with that asshole? I just beat the shit out of him for six months straight,” Christian Cage said. “Now I’m gonna team up with him? No. I’m done carrying him. He’s a loser.”

During their feud, Adam Copeland spoke highly of Christian Cage. In an interview with with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland complimented Cage’s character work.

“He does this so well because he wants to be one,” Copeland said. “Somewhere along the way, that’s got lost. Heels became cooler than the babyface. That’s not how it should be. That’s not how he sees it, either. I mean, the man wears a cut-off turtleneck. There’s nothing cool about what he’s doing,” Copeland said.

“He’s fully committed. He’s a Bond villain and loving it,” he added. “It’s fun to be involved with.”

Christian Cage is set to challenge for the AEW World Championship at AEW Double or Nothing. More information is available here.
