The battle royal on the June 18 episode of WWE NXT featured plenty of surprises.
On the June 18 episode of WWE NXT, a 25-man battle royal determined Trick Williams’ challenger for the NXT Championship at NXT Heatwave. WWE teased that the match would feature competitors from multiple locker rooms.
Joe Hendry competed in the battle royal. Before the bout, he vowed to win the title and bring it to TNA.
Hendry was quickly eliminated by fellow TNA star Frankie Kazarian.
Stars from the WWE main roster also competed in the match; Dragon Lee, Angel, Berto, Apollo Crews, and Tyler Bate all participated.
Je’Von Evans emerged victorious in the battle royal; he last eliminated Shawn Spears. WWE announced that he would face NXT Champion Trick Williams at NXT Heatwave.
The appearances by Hendry and Kazarian were the latest examples of WWE collaborating with TNA. TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace previously competed at NXT Battleground. NXT’s Tatum Paxley then faced Grace at TNA Against All Odds.
