Shotzi has spilled the beans on how she got the first of her many tattoos as a child.
The green-haired wrestler is one of the most instantly recognizable stars in the WWE. With her heavily-tattooed body and entrance in a mini tank, Shotzi is one of the most unique wrestlers in the world.
Her first tattoo was inspired by her love of musical theatre. Shotzi had the Melpomene and Thalia masks, which are the muses of tragedy and comedy. They are a common sight in musical theatre, so wholly relevant to the future WWE Superstar.
Shotzi recently appeared on WWE Tattooed to speak about her vast array of body ink. She revealed how she got her first tattoo at the age of 15. However, her mother was not thrilled with the decision.
She spoke about how her father took her to get it, as her mom refused to take her. However, she did say that if her dad took her, then she would look the other way. This is exactly what she did, and got the first of many.
“I got my first tattoo when I was 15, and my dad actually took me because you can get a tattoo underage if a parent brings you. And it was this one on my back because I was a big old musical theater nerd, but I did have to convince my mom.”
“My mom was like, ‘Absolutely, you’re never getting tattoos.’ And I had a whole PowerPoint presentation for her about why I needed this tattoo. I was like, ‘Mom, look, I am heavily into musical theater. I’ve been doing this since I was seven. I’m not gonna regret this tattoo.’ And she was just, ‘Well, if your dad takes you, fine, I don’t care.’ So my dad took me.”
