Syuri announced that she will be taking a temporary hiatus from pro wrestling following her loss of the IWGP Women’s Championship.
At STARDOM‘s recent Okayama show, Syuri said that she would be stepping away from wrestling temporarily. She revealed that she had sustained various injuries from wrestling throughout the years. Now, the leader of God’s Eye wishes to take time for a full recovery and pursue training abroad once ready.
“I have a strong desire to keep pushing myself to new heights, and I’ve been thinking about leveling up overseas. At the same time, after years of wrestling, I have various injuries that need treatment. After discussing with the company, I’ve decided to take a temporary break from Stardom,” she says.
Nonetheless, Syuri reassured the fans that her story with the IWGP Women’s Championship will continue upon her return. She looks to regain the belt upon her comeback sometime in the future.
On June 30th, STARDOM issued a formal statement on Syuri’s hiatus. Because of her prolonged absence, she will not be participating in this year’s 5 Star Grand Prix Tournament. However, she will continue her prior commitments with STARDOM until their July 6 show at Korakuen Hall.
