Becky Lynch claims she ran AJ Lee out of pro wrestling again.
Lynch is set to face off with WWE rising star Sol Ruca at Saturday Night’s Main Event. During a WWE RAW promo to hype the match, Lynch claimed that many people have challenged her. Despite their best efforts, she keeps knocking them down the ladder.
In the case of Lee, Lynch says that AJ was so bothered by losing to her that she completely left the pro wrestling business again.
“Many people have stepped to me. They thought they were ready for the spotlight, and the fall from grace has been astounding,” Lynch said. “I’m thinking of ‘Loony Lyra,’ ‘Mediocre Maxxine.” I mean, ‘Absolute Joke’ AJ Lee, she was so traumatized, she had to leave the whole business.”

Becky Lynch and AJ Lee began a feud upon the latter ending her ten-year retirement in September 2025. Their rivalry seemingly culminated at WrestleMania 42, where Lynch regained the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
AJ has since gone on a hiatus, teasing that she wasn’t saying goodbye to the WWE Universe, but hoped she would see them again soon. A recent report from Wrestlevotes Radio (via Fightful Select) said that AJ Lee’s creative is effectively done for the time being. WWE hopes that she will return to do more programs and matches in the future, as they would like to see her at big events like SummerSlam.
As we saw as recently as Brock Lesnar’s return on RAW on Monday, retirements don’t exactly stick for very long in pro wrestling. Well, unless you’re John Cena.
Or, Becky could just be making the whole thing up.
