Mustafa Ali is doing ok after a scary fall that worried and upset fans.
The opening contest at Slammiversary saw Ali face off with his longtime rival, Cedric Alexander. During the match, Alexander rolled Ali in the ring and continued to argue with Ali’s Secret Service entourage at ringside. Ali used the opportunity to attempt a tope suicida while Alexander’s back was turned.
Ali made contact with Alexander’s back and shoulders. Despite this, he ultimately flew over him and landed hard on the floor. Some fans took issue with the other performers not catching Ali, criticizing them for not catching Ali on the way down.
“Absolutely disgusting stuff! Everyone in that group should be punished for not catching Ali,” @Dirtyshubb wrote on Twitter/X. “The entire point of a dive to the outside is that the person diving has people there to catch them, not part like the red sea. Totally unprofessional stuff there.”

Mustafa Ali reacts to “botched dive” claims from fans
Ali responded to this post and said he appreciates everyone’s concern. Ali explained that the other talent is not responsible for the move not being executed properly. He went on to accept accountability himself, explaining that he simply slipped upon contact and momentum kept him going towards the floor. However, Ali absolved the other talent from any wrongdoing. Ali shared that they did exactly what they were instructed to do.
“Appreciate everyone’s concern. Unfortunately, I have to pull the curtain back here because the talent ringside was absolutely not responsible for that scary fall in any way and they are getting all the blame. They did exactly what they were instructed to do,” Ali wrote on Twitter/X. “I tried to do a variation of a dive and simply slipped off my opponent. No one to blame but me. I am all good. See ya on #TNAiMPACT”
