Medical Update On Roman Reigns After WWE Clash In Paris Assault

Roman Reigns may have won the opening contest at WWE Clash in Paris, but he didn’t leave the arena as the last man standing.

At WWE’s latest Premium Live Event this past Sunday, Reigns went up against Bronson Reed in a singles match. The Tribal Chief managed to pick up the win after a hard-hitting, back-and-forth contest, also getting his prized sneakers back in the process.

Reigns would go on to celebrate his win by choking Paul Heyman into unconsciousness with a guillotine chokehold, only to be speared through the announcer’s table by Bron Breakker. Reed would then finish the assault with a barrage of tsunamis — a move purportedly intended to write him off television for the foreseeable future.

WWE provides medical update on Roman Reigns

After Roman Reigns was stretchered out of the arena, WWE posted a medical update on The Tribal Chief via their social media. Backstage correspondent Cathy Kelley reported that Reigns was taken to a local hospital in Paris where he had an MRI and x-rays taken to determine his medical status, with more updates expected to be released on RAW tonight.

The angle is expected to give Reigns the time off to film his scenes for the upcoming Street Fighter live-action adaptation. The Tribal Chief is set to play the franchise’s iconic villain, Akuma, with the current Undisputed WWE Champion cast as Guile.
