Jason Baker highlights his relationship with Bo Dallas and the late Bray Wyatt, and how the brothers approached their creative sides.
Baker recently spoke with WrestleZone to promote his work on The Jester 2, in theaters nationwide on September 15th and 16th, thanks to Fathom Entertainment. In addition to his work as a special effects makeup artist, he has also created masks for several WWE Superstars, including Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda).
Baker and Wyatt worked with each other in WWE, but the pair also shared a very close friendship behind the scenes. After Wyatt’s untimely passing in 2023, Baker says it brought him closer to Windham’s brother, Taylor, better known as Bo Dallas. He shared how involved he is with Bo and the Wyatt Sicks on WWE TV, highlighting how working with Bo also contrasts with Windham’s approach to storylines.
Jason Baker praises Bo Dallas as an extremely creative person
“I talk to Bo and those guys almost every day. I try to help him out as much as I can. They’re all very creative people. There’s an amazing team of people working together with them, the writers and the creative people and everything else. There’s a really good team of people working with them at all times. But Bo is also extremely creative,” Baker explained. “He’ll come up with ideas and little things. Or we’ll do the same thing that him and his brother and I did where we would, we’ll talk, we’ll like spitball, be like, ‘Oh, what about this? Oh, let’s try that. Oh yeah. That’s cool. Let’s do that.’ Then we’ll work it around and just bounce it back and forth between each other and go from there.
“Bo’s very, very creative. He’s very smart, he’s very in tune. It’s really interesting seeing his creative process compared to his brother’s. Windham would sort of just spit out 80 million ideas at you at once. We’d joke about how it was almost like we’d gold dig, we’d sift through it. He’s like, ‘Alright, yeah, let’s take that and we’ll work with that and go from there.’”
Bo Dallas took the complete opposite of Bray Wyatt’s approach to storytelling
Baker says he’s thankful that he gets to work with Bo Dallas. He also shared that if he had to name one positive thing that came from Bray Wyatt’s passing, it’s that he got to form a stronger bond and friendship with Dallas after it.
“Bo is completely the opposite in the sense where you see him, he processes everything very internally, but you see the gears turning when you talk to him and it’s really cool. And I’m like, alright, we’ll let him cook. When you see him, he’s over there, and he’s sort of talking about it and thinking about it, and then he’ll come back with something like absolutely profound and amazing. You’re just like, ‘Yeah, let’s do that. That’s awesome.’
“It’s interesting seeing these two. They’re opposite sides of the same coin. They’re two very extremely talented, very creative people. But their thought process and the way their whole way of processing ideas and creativity is really unique. It’s an absolute honor getting to work with Bo as well. If I could say that one thing good that came out of Windham’s passing is that I was never as close with Bo as I was with Windham. Now I have this beautiful, amazing friendship and collaboration with Bo that I never had before. It’s been such an honor to get to work with him.”
