WWE WrestleMania 43 In Saudi Arabia Causes Uncertainty For Indie Scene

What will WWE WrestleMania 43 weekend look like in Saudi Arabia?

One of the biggest incentives to travel for WWE WrestleMania weekend is the large variety of wrestling conventions and events surrounding the biggest WWE show of the year. However, with WWE heading to Saudi Arabia for WrestleMania 43, is that all about to change?

Brandon Thurston and John Pollock of POST Wrestling have spoken to some people in charge of the top events typically seen around WrestleMania weekend.

WrestleCon operator, Highspots owner Michael Bochicchio, stated that while it’s premature to say right now, moving the event to Saudi Arabia is highly unlikely. Noting that running a convention of this size overseas would lead to heightened costs and fees. Bochicchio is already entertaining the idea of picking a city in the United States during that weekend and running an event anyway.

Meanwhile, GCW owner Brett Lauderdale revealed that he has been approached by two separate organizations that stage events in the Middle East region, who have offered to host GCW. However, Lauderdale admitted that this far out, it’s hard to say if these plans are realistic.

Lauderdale also admitted that hosting GCW in Saudi Arabia would have certain restrictions compared to their events in the United States.
