CM Punk just wants fans to behave themselves.
Punk took part in GQ’s “Replies To Fans Online” feature, where he responded to fans’ remarks about him. One fan asked him to name the craziest fan interaction he’s had. Punk said this particular incident took place at his home, and it involved a fan shoving something into the mail slot on his door.
“I heard my mail slot jingling and I was expecting, I don’t know, a check probably, in the mail. I ran downstairs and I looked down my stairs, and I didn’t know exactly what I was seeing. Upon further inspection, I went around, I opened up my window and I looked outside onto the street and there was a fan shoving something into my mail slot.”
CM Punk got something he wasn’t expecting
Punk thought the worst and grabbed a bat before going to inspect the situation further. He expected to confront the person at his door, but instead found a bunch of Easter-related items shoved through the mail slot.
“I was like, ‘This can’t be good.’ So I grabbed my Louisville Slugger, I walked downstairs and I’m thinking I’m going to open this door and confront this person. Essentially, what they did was they jammed an entire Easter basket into my one-inch by five-inch mail slot. So it’s a bunch of green garland, half-melted chocolate Peeps. There’s been many, many crazy interactions with fans. That one sticks out because… why? Why? Stop it, behave yourselves.”
This is one of the more bizarre incidents involving fans invading pro wrestlers’ privacy, but the lesson is still the same — respect people’s boundaries, and don’t send stuff to their homes!
During the feature, CM Punk also revealed why he will never use “This Fire Burns” as his entrance theme song again.
