TNA iMPACT Results
Mike Santana is on his way to the building. Santana is met by Santino Marella, who informs him that he and Trick Williams are barred from physical confrontation outside of their sanctioned match. Santana questions if Williams turns out to be the aggressor. Marella says Santana is allowed to defend himself but shouldn’t do anything that may end up jeopardizing their TNA Bound For Glory main event.
The King’s Speech kicks off TNA iMPACT
Frankie Kazarian hits the ring. He tells the Edmonton crowd to stop eating sugar and put their eyes on him. Kaz says he’s in his ring gear ready to fight because he has a locker room full of guys wanting a shot at his TNA International Championship. Frankie puts over Steve Maclin as a soldier but says he deserves the recognition for ending Maclin’s reign.
Kaz puts over Trick Williams. He says Trick may be a star but he isn’t a king. Frankie brings the Hardys into the conversation. He mocks the brothers before calling out Leon Slater. Kaz wonders if Slater could lead TNA into the future. He then welcomes his guest for the segment, the TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan.
Kelani enters the ring. Kaz tries to stir up controversy by calling out Jordan’s world title win. Kelani fires back, saying she was never a “fluke.” She references her storied journey, from the world of gymnastics into the world of pro wrestling. The crowd chants “NXT.” Kaz yells they know the initials. He says the only reason Trick is the world champion is because Joe Hendry couldn’t save his title reign.
The TNA World Champion shows up. Williams tells Frankie to put some respect on his name. Trick says he’s the man who’s been carrying two brands on his back. Williams says Frankie calling himself the king makes Trick the emperor. Trick calls Kaz a “second rate champion” in a “second rate business.” Trick focuses his attention on Mike Santana. He reminds Santana that if he puts his hand on the champion, their scheduled world title match at BFG is cancelled. Trick calls out Leon Slater and the Hardys.
Matt Hardy shows up. The one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions questions why the men in the ring are burying rest of the TNA roster. Hardy says TNA is on fire because of guys like Mike Santana and Leon Slater. He says no matter how hard Trick and Kaz tries to trash TNA, it won’t die, just like Matt. Kaz brings up Jeff Hardy. He says he forget Jeff wasn’t allowed in Canada. Kaz then mocks the Edmonton crowd, saying if it were up to him he wouldn’t show up.
Leon Slater arrives. Slater says he won’t sit back and watch Trick and Kaz disrespect the Hardys. Kelani tells Kaz she thought she was the special guest for the segment. Lani says she’ll retain the championship against Indi Hartwell at TNA Bound For Glory. Indi Hartwell appears. Hartwell borrows Slater’s catchphrase, saying she’ll bring back the title to TNA. Kaz, Kelani and Trick argue only for Santino Marella to show up.
Marella hypes up Bound For Glory. He says the event is still one week away but he feels like booking a six-person tag team match featuring the six superstars. Marella asks the Edmonton crow if they want to watch all the action. The crowd cheers. Santino makes it official. It’s going to be Trick Williams, Kelani Jordan and Frankie Kazarian against Matt Hardy, Indi Hartwell and Leon Slater after the break, with Mike Santana on commentary.
Matt Hardy, Leon Slater & Indi Hartwell vs. Trick Williams, Frankie Kazarian & Kelani Jordan
- The finish of the match saw Leon Slater plant Frankie Kazarian with a Swanton 450 for the win.
Winners: Matt Hardy, Leon Slater & Indi Hartwell
Grade: B-
The match dragged on for far too long. The spot where Trick tagged in Kelani only for her to get out without hitting Leon Slater looked awkward. Santana and Trick’s brawl was the better part of the match. They’ve done a good keeping retaining fan interest in this feud.
The TNA roster is on the ramp with Tommy Dreamer holding the microphone. Dreamer hypes up TNX x NXT Showdown. Dreamer gets riled up and takes off his shirt. He says TNA is family and they’ll take NXT to the extreme.
Update on Ash By Elegance
Tom Hannifan reveals Ash By Elegance isn’t cleared to compete with her medical details being kept private. He adds that there’s no timeline for her return.
The Angel Warriors (Lei Ying Lee & Xia Brookside) vs. Ava Lawless & Kat Von Heez
- The finish of the match saw Lee and Brookside hit their tag team combo finisher, Heaven Sent, for the win.
Winners: The Angel Warriors
Joe Hendry backstage segment
Joe Hendry addresses Victory Road. Hendry recaps his match with Eric Young. Santino Marella interrupts. He informs Joe of his scheduled match next week on TNA iMPACT against Eric Young that’s going to be no DQ. Marella says he didn’t made the match but somebody above him did.
Amazing Red on TNA iMPACT
They got Amazing Red to appear in Mike Santana BFG vignette. Red delivers an amazing prep talk, telling Santana to get the TNA World Championship, not for his family or TNA, but for himself. Check out the full vignette below:
Home Town Man vs. Nic Nemeth
- The finish of the match saw Nic Nemeth plant HTM with the Danger Zone for the win.
Winner: Nic Nemeth
After the match, the Nemeths gang up on HTM. Matt Cardona shows up to make the save but the Nemeths take him down as well. The brothers then assault HTM and Cardona. Ryan puts the HTM mask back on to cap off the segment.
Grade: B-
They should’ve find a creative way to keep HTM’s undefeated streak alive. That was a major part of his gimmick. As for the match, it was solid. Nic is supremely underrated. Glad he’s still getting to entertain fans.
Gia Miller promo
Gia Miller addresses Tessa Blanchard attacking her. Miller says she put forward a condition when she asked Santino Marella to lift Blanchard’s suspension. The condition was that Miller would get a match against Tessa at Bound For Glory is Tessa puts her hand on her again. We didn’t get Tessa’s response during the vignette but expect the match to be made official, may be by next Thursday.
Tasha Steelz vs. Alisha Edwards
- The finish of the match saw Alisha plant Tasha with a pedigree for the win.
Winner: Alisha Edwards
After the match, both women continue to brawl until Order 4 and The System separate the two. The System stands tall in the ring with Order 4 outside.
Grade: C+
A filler match to build up what has been a solid feud between The System and Order 4. This writer thought Edwards would plant Steelz with a tiger driver because the pedigree didn’t look effective at all.
Tessa Blanchard responds to Gia Miller
Tessa with another solid promo, calling out Miller for not belonging inside the squared circle. Blanchard tells Miller to back up her bags and leave because that’s all she’s capable. If there’s anyone on the Knockouts roster that could carry Miller to a solid match, it’s Blanchard.
Next week on TNA iMPACT

- Matt Cardona vs. Ryan Nemeth

- Joe Hendry vs. Eric Young – No Disqualification
The Elegance Brand (c) versus The IInspiration – TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship
- The finish of the match saw The IInspiration hit Heather with the Idolizer for the win.
Winners and new TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: The IInspiration
Overall Grade: B-
A segment-heavy episode that seems to have become the norm in the aftermath of TNA Wrestling’s partnership with WWE. The opening match didn’t need to be that long. This writer isn’t a fan of TNA putting an end to Home Town Man’s undefeated streak. The IInspiration should’ve won the titles at BFG instead of tonight. It seems TNA wanted Jessie and Cassie to enter Showdown as the champions because of their familiarity with WWE fans. That said, congratulations to The IInspiration on becoming the only team to capture tag team titles in WWE and TNA.
