All Elite Wrestling founder Tony Khan recently called former multi-time World Champion Jon Moxley a phenomenal leader for the company.
On May 25, 2019, the wrestling landscape witnessed a major shift when Moxley left WWE and joined All Elite Wrestling. Since his debut, the ex-WWE star has remained loyal to the company and is one of the most consistent performers on the roster.
During his current run, Moxley has also won multiple championships and traveled the world in the independent circuit. In a recent interview with 3NT Wrestling, Tony praised Jon Moxley for his dedication and hard work towards the company.
“Jon Moxley, since day one, has been one of the most important stars in AEW. But backstage,” Tony Khan said. “Jon Moxley’s also — as you’ve correctly assessed — one of the most important people backstage in AEW,” Khan said. “Everybody in AEW has so much respect for Jon Moxley. He arrived in AEW as a huge star. And since we started AEW, he’s been the most consistent presence on the show week in, week out on all of our shows.
“Jon Moxley works so hard. He’s a phenomenal wrestler. He’s a phenomenal leader. He’s a genius about pro wrestling. And Jon Moxley’s one of my favorite people I’ve ever gotten to work with. And I’m really, really proud that Jon Moxley is in AEW. I think he was a fantastic World Champion time after time after time in AEW. When will Jon Moxley’s AEW contract reportedly expire?
Jon Moxley signed a five-year extension deal with AEW in 2022. This confirms that his current contract will expire at some point in 2027.
Under this contract extension, he expanded his role within Tony Khan’s company, also working as a mentor and coach for the talent.
