Bailey McRoberts has lived to tell her inspirational tale.
In the ring, she’s known as Teagan Thorne, “The Eternal Enigma” filling the Midwest independent circuit with eerie energy. In real life, she’s 22-year-old Bailey McRoberts, chasing a dream once thought to be impossible.
While speaking with WKRC, Bailey recalled a life-altering event that previously left her in a coma.
At the age of 11, Bailey was part of a near-fatal car crash along U.S. Route 421 between Versailles and Madison in Indiana. Upon impact, McRoberts’ skull split open, leaving her father, wrestler “Wildthing” Chuck McRoberts, to hold it in place as first responders rushed to the scene.
“When I turned Bailey around, her head was just split wide open,” Chuck McRoberts said. “The truck was on fire. Eventually, everybody got out, and I was on the road trying to hold her head together.”
Bailey McRoberts Defies The Odds
Bailey was initially pronounced dead at the scene, but thankfully, an EMT revived her. From there, Bailey went into a two-week coma and spent the next two years recovering.
“Doctors said I’d never play sports again,” Bailey recalled. “I’d be lucky just to be normal. Now I’ve exceeded everyone’s expectations—and I’m doing what I love more than anything in the world.”
After relearning to tie her shoes and walk, Bailey followed in the footsteps of her father and began her own career inside a professional wrestling ring at 15 years old. Earlier this year, she notably joined Ohio Valley Wrestling, which was once a developmental territory for WWE. Looking ahead, Bailey hopes to ascend to WWE itself with her forehead scar as a symbol of her strength.
“It’s my battle mark,” Bailey said. “I fought for my life, and I keep fighting every time I step into that ring.”
