Iyo Sky, a multi-time WWE Women’s Champion, recently admitted there’s still one thing that makes her nervous.
Sky signed with WWE in 2017 and quickly made a name for herself in NXT, where she became both the NXT Women’s Champion and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. She won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Zoey Stark.
After her success in NXT, she joined the main roster in 2022 as part of Damage CTRL alongside Bayley and Dakota Kai. Over the past few years, Iyo Sky has achieved a lot, holding both the Women’s World title and the SmackDown Women’s title.
Sky also delivered standout matches this year, including a thrilling triple threat against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41 and an unforgettable match with Ripley in the main event of WWE Evolution 2.
Even with all her success, Iyo Sky admitted she still gets nervous cutting promos on WWE TV. In her interview with Insight with Chris Van Vliet, she said being nervous makes her more careful to try and speak proper English on TV.
“Promos make me nervous, even only short lines makes me so nervous, because even backstage from everything, because we are on TV, behind the camera. So that’s why I’m always careful about speaking proper English, like now I’m pretty relaxed to speak English, sometimes even broken English, you will understand, but on camera, I have to memorize proper English.”
