WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has shared major praise for Dominik Mysterio following his match against John Cena.
On RAW, Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship, completing the Grand Slam just as he enters the final three appearances of his retirement tour. Even though Mysterio lost the title, Booker T made it clear that Mysterio’s future is bright.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker praised Dominik Mysterio’s rapid rise, saying the young star has carved out his own lane with confidence. He said, “I just think it’s really good TV. People are wondering what’s gonna happen with Dom, I don’t think people have to worry about Dominik Mysterio, this guy’s on a trajectory like I’ve never seen before in this business. The way he has taken that mantle and run with it, and Dominik is in his own lane, nobody can do what he does, so he’s gonna be good.”
He added that Cena’s victory opens the door for a major challenger to step up and possibly dethrone him, making the story even stronger. “As far as John Cena winning it to set up this retirement tour, it’s perfect, because somebody’s gonna get that shot. The person’s gonna have the chance to walk in and perhaps walk out the new champion, beating John Cena, the story is just too good.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
