AJ Styles Reacts To Younger Talent Stealing His Moves

How does AJ Styles feel about the next generation of wrestlers stealing his moveset?

WWE Superstar AJ Styles was a recent guest on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast. When asked how he feels about younger talents stealing some of his most popular moves he’s used throughout his career, Styles said he thinks it’s cool and views it as he’s made an impact on the wrestling business.

“That’s cool. Well, I mean, if guys are doing my moves—if girls are doing my moves—that’s awesome,” AJ Styles said. “I want them to. That just means I’ve made an impact in the business, that people have watched AJ Styles and thought, ‘Great, I’d like to try that. I’d like to see if I could do that.’

“I did the same thing. I was trying shooting star presses and 450s and all kinds of stuff like that because I saw other guys do it. So the fact that someone does the Styles Clash—I don’t care. Thank you for doing it, man. That means it’s impacted the wrestling world, and that’s okay. I like that.” [H/T: SEScoops]

AJ Styles believes this is missing from wrestling today

In the same interview, Styles said he believes selling is something that’s missing from a lot of pro wrestling today.

“The one thing that I think is missing the most is selling. The way they used to sell back in the day, man, they really made you believe that this hurt, that this guy is in pain,” Styles explained. “I just feel like we’ve gotten away from that. And I’m just as guilty as anybody,” he noted. “But if we could take it back and make a ‘less is more’ [approach], I think that would be best for everybody.”
