Final Battle Zero Hour Results:

The Outrunners vs. Premier Athletes (w/ Smart Mark Sterling and Stori Denali)

  • The finish of the match saw The Outrunners hit Total Recall of Ariya Daivari to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: The Outrunners

Grade: C

Not a great way to kick things off tonight for me personally. I don’t consider myself a fan of either team and found myself bored to tears from beginning to end. There was nothing necessarily wrong with the match itself, but it failed to capture my interest, and for that, I can’t give it a higher grade than this.

A video package airs hyping the ROH Women’s Pure Championship match later tonight between Deonna Purrazzo and Billie Starkz.

Leila Grey (w/ Christopher Daniels) vs. Zayda Steel

  • The finish of the match wasn’t shown because the video feed cut out in the middle of the match. It appears Leila Grey won the match.

Winner: Leila Grey

Grade: N/A

Well, I was enjoying this match. I thought it was a good debut for Zayda Steel, but suddenly, ROH just decided they had enough of the audio issues and just pulled the plug on the show entirely. I can’t grade a match I didn’t see from start to finish, as I feel like that’s a disservice to the competitors in the ring. It sucks, but it is what it is. Moving on…

This likely won’t end well…

Sammy Guevara, The Beast Mortos, and Hechicero are backstage with Lexy Nair. There appears to be a working relationship between LFI and the Don Callis Family. Guevara and The Beast Mortos will each compete twice tonight. First for the vacant ROH World Tag Team Titles and then for the ROH World Championship.

Ace Austin vs. Lee Johnson

  • The finish of the match saw Ace Austin hit Lee Johnson with The Fold to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Ace Austin

Grade: B+

Very good match. Zero Hour is progressing in the right direction. Hopefully, the show will continue to improve in quality as the night goes on. We’ve got one more match left on Zero Hour, so let’s hope they finish strong heading into the pay-per-view.

Blake Christian is already giving out title shots

Blake Christian is backstage with Lexy Nair to hype tonight’s main event. Christian is already acting like he has tonight’s ROH World Championship match in the bag and says that because Ace Austin beat his tag team partner, Lee Johnson, he’ll give him the first shot at the title after he wins it later on tonight.

Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia (w/ Jon Moxley)

  • The finish of the match saw Wheeler Yuta hit Zack Gibson with a busaiku knee to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia

Grade: B

Fun tag match and a nice way to end Zero Hour. Jon Moxley’s commentary in recent weeks has been very enjoyable, and tonight was no exception. He did a great job putting over GYV as a threat against Yuta and Garcia. Overall, I thought Zero Hour was good. Now bring on the pay-per-view!

ROH Final Battle Results:

ROH Women’s Pure Championship: Billie Starkz vs. Deonna Purrazzo

  • The finish of the match saw Deonna Purrazzo lock Billie Starkz in the Venus de Milo to win the match via submission.

Winner: And NEW Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Champion, Deonna Purrazzo

After the match, Queen Aminata, sporting a neck brace, meets Purrazzo on the stage and shakes her hand. Aminata declares she wants the first shot at the title.

Grade: A-

This was a pure wrestling masterclass. Really great way to kick off the show. Deonna Purrazzo is special. I don’t like the fact that she’s barely been used in AEW as of late, but I’m happy to see her getting this moment tonight. Hopefully, this will lead to more opportunities for her in AEW in 2026. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

30-Minute Iron Man Match: Lee Moriarty (w/ Shane Taylor) vs. Nigel McGuinness

  • First Fall: Moriarty locks McGuinness in the Border City Stretch for a submission fall
  • Second Fall: Moriarty catches McGuinness in a cradle pinfall to go up 2-0
  • Third Fall: McGuiness locks Moriarty in London Dungeon to pick up a submission fall
  • Fourth Fall: Moriarty quickly reversed another London Dungeon with a pin to go up 3-1
  • Fifth Fall: McGuinness reverses the Border City Stretch into a pinfall
  • Sixth Fall: McGuinness catches Moriarty with a sprawling pin to tie things up 3-3
  • Seventh Fall: McGuinness scores a very late pinfall to up for 4-3
  • Eighth Fall: Taylor decks McGuiness, allowing Moriarity to tie up things in the final seconds

Winner: A draw with a 4-4 tie

The match goes to sudden death, and Moriarty picks up the deciding fall.

Winner: Lee Moriarty

After the match, McGuinness shows Moriarty respect by giving him his old ROH Pure Championship title.

Grade: B+

I’m not sure this was the right match to go on right after the opener. Granted, it wasn’t a Pure Rules match, but it was very much wrestled like one. I think it would have benefited from being on later in the show. I enjoyed it, but I think I would have enjoyed it more had it not taken place right after the Women’s Pure Title match.

Jon Moxley has something to say…

Jon Moxley leaves the broadcast booth to cut a promo on the Don Callis Family. Moxley will face Konosuke Takeshita tomorrow on Collision in the Blue League of the Continental Classic. Moxley says if Takeshita wants to take any ground in tomorrow’s tournament, he’ll have to do so by force.

ROH Women’s World Television Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Red Velvet

  • The finish of the match saw Red Velvet reverse Mercedes Moné’s Statement maker into a rollup pinfall to score the victory.

Winner: And NEW ROH Women’s World Television Champion, Red Velvet!

Grade: A

This was WAY better than their unification match on AEW last month. I’m not sure if it was due to them being more familiar with each other now or being given more time, either way… this freaking ruled. Easily my favorite thing on tonight’s show so far.

ROH World Tag Team Championship: La Facción Ingobernable (Sammy Guevara and The Beast Mortos) vs. “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington and Adam Priest

  • The finish of the match saw Hechicero get involved, allowing The Beast Mortos to hit a corkscrew moonsault on Tommy Billington to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: And NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions, La Facción Ingobernable

Grade: B-

I was pretty bored for the majority of this matchup. I felt the winners were pretty obvious early on, and nothing in the match made me feel differently. It was fine, but it could have been shorter.

Eddie Kingston vs. Josh Woods

  • The finish of the match saw Eddie Kingston hit Josh Woods with a DDT to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Eddie Kingston

Grade: B

Good match, probably went a bit too long, but overall I enjoyed it. A nice win for Kingston before he has to lose to Samoa Joe next week at Winter is Coming. Very standard Tony Khan style booking here of giving someone a random win before a guaranteed loss.

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship: Shane Taylor Promotions (w/ Trish Adora) (c) vs. Skyflight (w/ Christopher Daniels and Leila Grey)

  • The finish of the match saw Shawn Dean score the pinfall victory over Darius Martin.

Winners: And still ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, Shane Taylor Promotions

Grade: B+

Very fun matchup. Perhaps a bit overbooked at points, but both teams came out looking really good. I thought tonight might have been Skyflight’s night, but it wasn’t meant to be. It was a big night for Shane Taylor Promotions at Final Battle.

AEW National Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. Dalton Castle (w/ The Outrunners)

  • The finish of the match saw Ricochet hit Dalton Castle with the Spirit Gun to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still AEW National Champion, Ricochet

Grade: B+

This was easily the best Dalton Castle match I’ve seen in a long time. He worked very well with Ricochet tonight at Final Battle. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Castle is a former Ring of Honor World Champion. Tonight was a good reminder of what he’s capable of when in the ring with the right opponent.

Survival of the Fittest for the ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Blake Christian vs. The Beast Mortos vs. Komander vs. Hechicero

  • Komander eliminates Sammy Guevara
  • Hechicero eliminates The Beast Mortos
  • Blake Christian eliminates Komander
  • Bandido eliminates Blake Christian
  • The finish of the match saw Bandido catch Hechicero in a small package to win the match.

Winner: And still ROH World Champion, Bandido

After the match, Brody King joins Bandido in the ring to celebrate his big victory.

Grade: A-

Very fun match. When it just came down to Bandido and Hechicero, it was taken to another level. The chemistry those two men have together is insane. It’s really hard to say any single wrestler has had a better 2025 from an in-ring perspective than Bandido.

ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Persephone

  • The finish of the match saw Athena hit Persephone with the O-Face to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still ROH Women’s World Champion, Athena

Grade: A-

Athena celebrates her hard-earned victory with Billie Starkz and Diamante as ROH Final Battle goes off the air.

ROH Final Battle Review:

Overall, this was a fun show. However, it was a long show that also felt long. Sometimes long events from ROH or AEW don’t necessarily feel long, but this one did. While it was a good show, they could have easily shaved some time off tonight’s pay-per-view, and it probably would have flowed way better.

Grade: B+
