WWE might be getting back one of its most popular talents in time for the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia next year.
Back on the November 24 episode of WWE RAW during the Last Time Is Now Tournament, Penta suffered an unfortunate injury in his match against Solo Sikoa. During a tornado DDT spot outside the ring, Penta landed awkwardly on his shoulder, causing the match to be stopped. He hasn’t been seen on WWE programming since the injury.
At one point, WWE was hopeful that Penta could return in time for the AAA Guerra de Titanes event when the Lucha Bros were scheduled to reunite and take on Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano, but it wasn’t meant to be.
In a new, much more positive update from Bodyslam+, WWE is hopeful that Penta will be able to return in time for the 2026 Royal Rumble.
The 2026 Royal Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rey Fenix talks about a Lucha Bros reunion in WWE
Will the Lucha Bros ever tag in WWE? Or are those days behind them?
Last month, during Ringside Fest 2025, Rey Fenix was asked about a potential Lucha Bros reunion in WWE. Fenix said he knows it’s something they have to do.
“And of course, I know we have to do it in WWE too. I think the people want it. In my opinion, my brother and I are the best tag team in the universe. We’re very different, and that’s why we’re the best. We don’t compete with each other — we know our roles, we know what we need to do to be a great team. He’s my older brother. I love him so much, and I’ve learned so much from him.
“If I get the chance to team with him in WWE, that would be a dream come true. Years ago, we made a promise, and that promise is going to happen at some point. I think Penta and Rey Fénix — The Lucha Brothers — are coming. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I feel it in my heart,” Rey Fenix said.
