Killer Kross puts things in perspective as a new year arrives.
Kross spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of his appearance at MLW Battle Riot VIII. During the conversation, Kross spoke about the importance of family and how he planned on dedicating more time to them in 2026.
“My New Year’s resolution is to spend more time with my family. I know I’ve kind of talked about this already, but I usually don’t talk about bad or tragic things while they’re happening. I’ll either never talk about them or mention them later, once everyone is okay,” he pointed out.
“My mom beat cancer. She finished radiation and chemo,” Kross said. “As I’m getting older, I’ve started to look at things differently. When you’re a young adult, especially in your early 20s, you tend to prioritize your career over everything else. You get out of high school, university, or college, and you’re immediately thrown into the working world. You try to find yourself through that and build an occupational identity.”
Killer Kross will have his priorities in order
Kross said that this identity consumes people, but as you get older, you learn a new perspective on what really matters in life.
“If you’re lucky in life and you reach a point where you’re financially secure, not rich, just secure, you start to realize something. You only have so many holidays left with your family before they’re f*cking gone,” Kross said. “It’s a grim way to look at it, but it changes your perspective. I’m looking at things very differently now.
“I really want to make sure I’m spending my time the right way,” he added, “and not prioritizing work over days and moments that I can never get back.”
MLW Battle Riot VIII takes place on January 29, 2026, at Osceola Heritage Park’s Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida. The event will also stream on the MLW YouTube channel and beIN Sports.
