Matt Hardy predicts big things for TNA in 2026.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt praised TNA Wrestling’s broadcast deal with AMC, suggesting the partnership could help the promotion challenge AEW as the number two wrestling promotion in the United States.
“My number three is that the TNA will push AEW for the perception of the number two wrestling company in 2026,” Hardy said. “I think this TNA new TV deal with AMC is going to totally help TNA ascend to the next level… It is going to put TNA back on the level of being a major promotion.
“Obviously, monetarily, we’re not going to be doing the same deal, especially for media rights as AEW is currently, but it is going to look and feel like a big-time promotion,” Hardy explained. “I think it is going to look bigger and bigger and like we’re going to be back in the game where they’re going to talk about oh, the top three. You’re going to hear more. Usually it’s just like, ‘oh, WWE, AEW.’ TNA is going to be in that conversation after this year, after six months or so.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
Matt Hardy hopes to transition into a surprising role in the future
The Hardys recently signed new contracts with TNA Wrestling. Matt confirmed his contract status with the company during a previous episode of his podcast. He also discussed the possibility of transitioning into a backstage role once his in-ring career comes to an end.
“Matt fact, Matt and Jeff have re-signed with TNA,” Matt Hardy said. “We had been talking about this for a while, and once we knew this new TV deal was almost together. I mean, it’s been right on the it was on the verge of being all the way together.
“I almost feel like it’s time for me maybe to even kind of maybe move into a little bit of the office, still be an active competitor, but like, try and also contribute, contribute to the greater good of what we’re doing at TNA, AMC, everything else,” Matt said. “And like, if I can be a little more hands-on with idea pitching, even for different talents. I mean, there’s a lot of young talents that I see like, oh my god, I’d love to get them going in this direction.”
