Will WWE have Powerhouse Hobbs appear today on SmackDown ahead of his final AEW appearance tomorrow night on Collision?
The AEW contract of Powerhouse Hobbs expired Wednesday night at midnight, and all indications suggest he’s WWE-bound. Hobbs was featured in a taped match on Collision, which will air this weekend.
This has led to much speculation that WWE would fly Hobbs into the United Kingdom to appear on SmackDown before his final AEW appearance airs. However, a new report suggests that it isn’t likely to happen.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), unless WWE airs a vignette, it’s very unlikely that we’ll see Hobbs today on SmackDown.
Surprisingly, WWE didn’t schedule for Hobbs travel to Europe for today’s show, and he isn’t scheduled to be backstage. Despite that, Hobbs is still expected to sign with WWE. And for all we know, he already has. We’ll find out soon enough.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
