AJ Lee is reportedly planned for a massive match against a top superstar at WWE WrestleMania 42.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, AJ Lee is set to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42. The report states that it has been considered one of the more “locked-in” matches for the event. While the company has made several creative changes towards the show as it draws closer, this bout has been the plan for quite some time.
Since returning to WWE in September 2025, AJ Lee has competed in two matches. Her most recent appearance came at Survivor Series: WarGames, where she competed in the women’s WarGames match. However, she is yet to compete in a singles contest, and that might happen at WrestleMania 42.
Becky Lynch is the current Women’s Intercontinental Champion, and if the match materializes, AJ Lee will have the opportunity to win her first title in WWE since 2014. Lee has already made Lynch tap out twice, and it will be interesting to see if she can do it one more time at WrestleMania 42.
AJ Lee recalls the time Big E ‘almost murdered’ her during WWE entrance
During a Q&A session at a bookstore to promote her memoir, AJ Lee looked back at the moment when Big E accidentally hit her on the chest during their entrance on the April 8, 2013, episode of WWE RAW. She noted that wearing a padded bra saved her life that night.
“I had to wear a padded bra at all times while wrestling,” AJ Lee began. “Because I look like a 12-year-old girl, and none of the other girls do. I think I tweeted that night, ‘A padder bra saved my life.’
“We got to the back, and he was like, ‘Oh my God!’ He was on the verge of tears and was like, ‘What are we going to do? Are you ok?’ To be a really good friend, I was like, ‘Let me make him feel so bad about this.’
“Throughout the week, I told him I went to a doctor, my sternum was broken. I told him, like, I was reaching for water, and I couldn’t do it. So, I just text him throughout the week, like all this stuff, and he’s like, ‘Oh my God, are you serious?’ I was like, ‘No, I’m joking, like, I’m fully lying.’ But yeah, every now and then, I do tell him that he almost murdered me,” AJ Lee said.
