The Undertaker hot tag

WWE’s The Undertaker Says Going Nuts In Viral Video Was ‘A Teachable Moment’

The Undertaker finally breaks silence on a viral video from over a decade ago.

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently appeared on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast. During the conversation, a three on two handicap match featuring the two men at a house show was brought up.

For those unfamiliar, The Undertaker teamed with Triple H against Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase Jr.) in a series of untelevised matches during the WrestleMania XXV season.

In one such match, The Deadman hyped himself up for a hot tag by splashing water on his face and running from one corner to the other. Once he received the tag, Taker proceeded to dominate the competition on his own.

Explaining his thought process, The Undertaker noted that untelevised events like this allowed him to step slightly away from his character to impart guidance to up-and-coming stars like Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr., teaching them how a hot tag should look in the ring.

“All it was was a total teachable moment, that’s all it was for me. I never worked that way anywhere else, it didn’t work for my character to work like that.

“Back then, you’re not thinking of someone recording it, so I’m thinking that I’m getting away with being able to teach this moment.

“I’ve got Randy (Orton), who’s an established guy, but then you (Cody Rhodes) and Ted (DiBiase Jr) are young guys coming up.

“That’s the best way for me to teach, to let you experience what that hot tag should be like. That’s all that was, just a teaching moment, because I didn’t get those very often.

“We got to do some creative things at live events over there, those were all teachable moments.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
