Penta is finally getting his hands on Dominik Mysterio on WWE RAW, but he has an idea of how the match can be even more fun.
Penta spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WWE 2K26 Creator Fest at WWE Headquarters about his history in ladder matches. One of his most famous and highly praised ladder matches was the Escalera de la Muerte featuring the Lucha Bros against the Young Bucks at AEW All Out 2019.
“The ladder match is my kingdom, my brother! So, when I [share the ring] with my brother, with ladders, it’s the best,” Penta said.
Penta says a ladder match would be perfect
WWE Money In The Bank 2025 marked Penta’s only ladder match in WWE so far. He was asked about potentially facing Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match, and sounded up for the challenge.
“Right now—this is a good idea! This is a good idea,” he said. “Now, with this match [coming up], can I beat ‘Stupid Dom’ in a ladder match? [I can hit] the Mexican Destroyer or something to him [on the ladder], it’s perfect.”
Dom is also scared of heights, especially when hung over the ring in a shark cage. Penta loved the idea of potentially making Dom climb a ladder. He joked that he might have to call in a favor.
“Yeah, why not? Let’s do it! Let me call somebody,” Penta said with a sinister laugh.
WWE RAW takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday. AJ Lee, CM Punk and Roman Reigns are all advertised to appear on RAW. Penta will challenge Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on the show. This is Dom’s first title defense since winning the title at Survivor Series, and Penta’s first title shot since Saturday Night’s Main Event in November 2025.
