WWE’s tag team division is one that often gets overlooked, and recently, Bayley opened up about how that is especially true for the women’s division.
Speaking during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Bayley opened up about the women’s tag team division. Specifically, the WWE star mentioned that she believes some of the top names like herself and Charlotte Flair have added weight to the titles, and have also allowed them to battle for belts while the young stars also get opportunities.
“I’m a little biased, because the women’s tag titles mean a lot to me,” Bayley said. “I also just love that it brings so many women into the picture. And you mention Charlotte, when have we ever seen this version of Charlotte Flair? The same that Lyra [Valkyria] does for me, Alexa [Bliss] brings out, although Alexa’s been around with us this whole time, she brings out a different, softer, more relatable side of Charlotte Flair, which…she wouldn’t have had that without the tag team titles.”
Bayley went on to talk about up-and-coming stars like Jade Cargill, Stephanie Vaquer, and more have now been able to come onto the scene and battle for the singles titles due to so many top stars going after the tag titles.
“I love seeing the spotlight on the tag titles, and then it gives the opportunity for the other women, Jade, Stephanie, Chelsea [Green], and Giulia, all these other opportunities to work on those singles championships while the top names are still getting that time.”
