Swerve Strickland Looks Forward To WWE’s Young Black Superstars’ Growth

Swerve Strickland recently gave a big shoutout to several young WWE stars and made it clear he wants to see them all succeed.

WWE has built up a strong group of young Black superstars on its main roster right now, including Carmelo Hayes, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, and Oba Femi. All of them have made a strong impression early on and keep getting big chances to shine on WWE television.

Swerve Strickland sat down with Baller Talk and spoke about the next generation of Black wrestlers in WWE. He called out three names in particular and had great things to say about each one.

“WWE has some guys coming up like Oba Femi, young dude, powerhouse, great dude. I look forward to his growth.” He then turned his attention to Trick Williams and highlighted what makes him stand out from the crowd. Trick Williams, charismatic, can talk anybody into a building. Look forward to his growth.”

Strickland also talked about Je’Von Evans and brought up a personal connection he has with the young star. “Je’Von Evans, young guy, he grew up watching me, he said. Now he’s 21 years old, living his dream on the main roster. Great kid, looking forward to his growth.” [H/T: Fightful]
