Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke… an AEW star? Tony Khan says he’s open to the idea.
Comedian and Let’s Make a Deal host Wayne Brady was sitting ringside at AEW Revolution on Sunday night. During the Boom & Doom vs. The Infantry match, Shane Taylor got in Brady’s face and invited Brady to take a swing. Brady slapped him, which pissed Taylor off. Taylor then threw Brady over the barricade before shoving The Rizzler on the ground.
During the AEW Revolution post-show media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about Brady potentially wrestling for AEW.
“Yeah! You want to see Wayne Brady choke a guy?” Khan said, paraphrasing Brady’s infamous Chappelle’s Show sketch. “That’s great, I would like to see that too. I would like to see that too.
“I didn’t know you liked to get wet,” Khan said, adding another Chappelle’s Show reference. “Yeah, if he wants to get in there and get after it, I think that’s great. So like I said, I didn’t know Wayne liked to get wet. He likes to get after it. I’d love to get Wayne in the ring.”
“Yeah, absolutely. We do need to see some of that,” Renee Paquette added.
Big Justice ultimately got revenge for The Rizzler and Wayne Brady
Taylor ultimately got his comeuppance, as fellow Costco Guy Big Justice ran over and took Taylor out with a spear. Despite the ringside shenanigans, Boom & Doom’s Big Boom AJ and QT still won the match after hitting the Boomsday Device.
Big Boom AJ remains undefeated in AEW and Ring of Honor. The win at Revolution moves his record to 5-0; he made his AEW in-ring debut at Full Gear 2024, beating Marshall in a singles match.
Wayne Brady wasn’t the only celebrity to appear at Revolution, as Ronda Rousey also made a cameo on the show. However, Rousey’s appearance wasn’t as popular with fans, who criticized AEW for bringing her in.
