Conan O’Brien says Danhausen is proof that hard work and passion can take you far in life.
Danhausen made his WWE debut in February at the Elimination Chamber event. The very nice and very evil one has quickly become one of the most popular acts in WWE.
Comedy legend Conan O’Brien reflected on the fifth anniversary of his interview with Danhausen, which was the first edition of his Conan O’Brien Needs A Fan series. O’Brien recalled how Danhausen loosely based his gimmick on O’Brien, “if he was an interdimensional being.”
O’Brien says he still remembers Danhausen’s dedication to pro wrestling, noting that he was “grinding away for the past eight years” and driving hours just to wrestle. Because of that hard work, Danhausen is finally a WWE Superstar.
“This is a guy who just applied an incredible work ethic to his passion. And I was so impressed with this fellow. Well, it’s five years later, and now I am proud to report that Danhausen has recently made his WWE debut to rave reviews,” O’Brien said. “And this is proof again, that if you can marry hard work to your passion, you can go places.
“So, on behalf of myself and all of us here at Team Coco, massive congratulations and mad respect to Danhausen. I am so happy for you and proud of you, and I just should mention that because your character is based on me, I’m getting 20 percent,” he joked. “Well, I will, once I unleash my ‘interdimensional beings,” [who are my lawyer], and the blackest, blackest heart, Gavin Polone.”
