This former WWE star reveals the upside of signing with MLW.
Former WWE Superstar Cameron Grimes recently appeared on Fox News to announce that he has signed with Major League Wrestling.
Grimes, who has reverted to his pre-WWE name Trevor Lee, spoke about his aspirations in MLW. He noted that he wants to prove he is more than just a comedy act, which is how he was often portrayed during his time in WWE.
“My goal for MLW is to keep showing what I’m capable of,” Lee said. “I’m 32 years old and hopefully still have a lot of time left on the clock. With MLW, I want to prove that I’m more than just a comedy promo act. I can deliver elite-tier matches, and that’s my goal — to see how far I can go.”
Trevor Lee signed with WWE in 2019. He was involved in a storyline feud with LA Knight over the Million Dollar Championship during the pandemic era. He also captured the NXT North American Championship during his time on the brand.
Grimes was drafted to WWE SmackDown in the 2023 WWE Draft. He made his main roster in-ring debut with a six-second win over Baron Corbin. His last match came against Bron Breakker on April 12, 2024, before being released from his contract on April 23.
Trevor Lee previously worked one match for MLW in 2024 at Eric Bischoff’s One-Shot event. He also competed at MLW’s March tapings in Atlanta.
