Bret Hart spared no expense talking about how he felt about Shawn Michaels in a recent documentary.
During the recently released The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels on Peacock, Hart is interviewed for the program to discuss Michaels. In it, he mentions that Michaels became a “first-rate a**hole” once he started taking drugs during the heyday of his career, in a segment where many other WWE stars mention Michaels’ slowly growing ego and personality the more famous he became.
“He was an ahole, he was a first-rate ahole,” said Hart. “He said stuff to you. You know, he disrespected you. The things that he would say to you in the dressing room, confront you about stuff, it was like, where did that come from? I would have to think it was his drug problems, which were just starting to become a problem at that time.”
Michaels’ history as a chaotic figure backstage throughout his career at WWE is a notorious one. The legend has opened up before about his history as a bad guy, but has since grown from it. As the current head behind most of NXT, Michaels seems to have opened up more, and earned the respect of the stars around him.
