As WrestleMania 42 is knocking at the door, Trick Williams has taken a different approach to hype up his feud with Sami Zayn- he dropped a diss track.
Williams is getting ready for his first-ever WrestleMania match. He challenges Zayn for the United States Championship, and he is trying to build as much momentum as possible. Instead of just talking in promos, he has taken the fight into music, too. It’s something he has done before during his NXT days.
Trick Williams and Lil Yachty take shots at Sami Zayn in new track
Williams teamed up with rapper Lil Yachty to release a song called “Gingerbread Man,” and it’s aimed at Zayn since they have been calling the US Champion that name since their last interaction.
The song includes several personal shots at Sami Zayn. One line even brings up Zayn’s past issues with The Bloodline, suggesting he is still not over it mentally. “Sami ain’t been sane since he lost the bloodline,” Williams raps.
He also presents himself as the future of WWE, ready to take away the spotlight, and tells Zayn not to “cry” about it. This is also another shot at Zayn since he was emotionally unstable after he lost a WWE Championship opportunity earlier.
“When I take the spotlight, I don’t want to hear no cry,” Williams raps.
This is a part of their ongoing rivalry, which has been heating up throughout April. Things really kicked off when Trick Williams attacked Zayn after a title match on SmackDown. Since then, Lil Yachty’s involvement has made the storyline a bit unpredictable. The feud has also turned physical. In a recent match, Zayn hit Lil Yachty with a Helluva Kick at ringside.
Fans have also made things more interesting. Zayn is usually a fan favorite, but recently, more people have been cheering for Williams and Yachty. It has created a situation where it is not clear who the crowd is really backing.
