WWE‘s Rhea Ripley explains why she won’t compete while wearing sneakers.
Speaking on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42, Rhea Ripley explained why she prefers to wrestle in boots rather than sneakers. She noted that boots fit her style these days. Ripley also admitted that she sometimes struggles with sneakers in the ring because they tend to slip off, which has led her to throw them at her opponents. They even showed clips of her doing that to Candice LeRae and Liv Morgan.
“I think they’re just more my style these days,” Rhea Ripley began. “I would love to wear the high-top Chucks, but AJ’s already got that, so I don’t want to step on her toes. But I just feel like the boots are my look right now, because I got the black leather with the hardware. It just goes with that, where if I rocked up in my Vans with the white bottoms, it might be a little bit weird.
“But I do do brawls in these, and there’s been a few times where they have fallen off, and I’ll grab my shoe and throw it at someone,” Rhea Ripley said.
Rhea Ripley faced off against Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42. Despite B-Fab and Michin trying to interfere to help Cargill, Ripley got the win and walked out as the new champion after IYO Sky came out to even the odds.
