WWE star Paige revealed emotional details about one of the darkest periods of her life.
The situation dated back to 2017, when her private sex tape videos were leaked online. At the same time, she was already dealing with injuries and time away from WWE. She was not competing and was going through personal struggles.
Paige admitted that during that time she believed everyone hated her. She felt that even WWE and the fans had turned against her. That belief stayed with her for a long time. It affected how she saw herself and others around her.
Paige reflects on feeling isolated and believing she was alone
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Paige opened up about that period in detail. She explained how things kept getting worse around her and also revealed how WWE tried to help her.
She said the company kept reaching out to check on her. They even brought her in for meetings and medical evaluations, but she kept telling them she was fine.
“But I remember you guys were constantly reaching out to me, and they were like, we can’t help you unless you tell us what’s going on. We cannot help you unless you want the help, but we want to help you, you know? So they kept reaching out, and I’m like, I’m fine, I’m fine. And you guys even, like, flew me out to Connecticut and sat down with me and were just like, you have to talk to us. You have to let us help you.
“And I’m like, I’m fine. And then I remember you bringing me to a Tampa Raw, and you did this whole medical checkup on me because I got really skinny. I messed with my hair. I was very skinny. And I remember, like, I put my arms on the wall so they could see, like, the bones in my back and stuff, just to see. And they were like, we want to help you, but we can’t unless you want us to. And I’m just like, I’m fine. You know, eventually. And so I went through that really awful stage.”
She also spoke about how she pushed people away.
“And I cut out all my family. I cut out all my friends. I cut out you guys, you know, because I was convinced you guys hated me, you know? I was convinced no one wanted me around. I was convinced, you know, I was alone. And then when these tapes came out, you know, I ran out of the house, took off, kept running run, run, run, run. And like he said, I see the first thing come up, the second thing come up. I’m like, oh. And again, I wasn’t in the best situation.”
