WWE star Logan Paul’s new $500k One Piece manga purchase has left IShowSpeed and fans fuming.
On Wednesday, April 22, Logan Paul took to X/Twitter to reveal that he’s now the proud owner of “the greatest Mangas in the world.” He posted a picture of himself holding two high-grade Weekly Shonen Jump issues of One Piece and Dragon Ball Z.
“Proud owner of the greatest Mangas in the world (imo). One Piece Chapter One 9.0 (second highest grade in existence, pop 3). First canon appearance of Monkey D. Luffy. One Piece is the #1 selling Manga in the world at 600M+ copies sold. Dragon Ball Chapter One 9.2 (highest grade in existence, pop 1) purchased for a record $550,000. First appearance of Goku & Bulma The Manga journey has begun…,” Logan Paul posted.
However, his post garnered mixed reactions from fans, with some questioning Logan Paul’s knowledge of the series. His WWE WrestleMania 42 partner, IShowSpeed, whom he betrayed at the event, also blasted Paul over the purchase.
“You don’t even know s**t about one piece,” IShowSpeed replied.
“You cannot be a fan of one piece and a trump supporter you are part of the celestial dragons you absolute f**king loser,” a fan posted.
“If it suddenly gets harder to get manga volumes because of this larper I’m gonna lose my mind,” another fan wrote.
Although he spelled it correctly in the tweet, one fan dug up an old clip of Logan Paul wrongly saying the name of the One Piece protagonist. He mistakenly said “Luffy D. Monkey” before someone corrected him that it’s actually “Monkey D. Luffy.”
Logan Paul bought two more One Piece issues
Logan Paul then followed it up with another tweet, appearing to take a jab at the angry replies. He noted that he’s humbled by all the “love” he received from the One Piece community, and revealed that he’s bought two more issues of the manga.
“Truly humbled by all the love I’ve been getting from the One Piece community so I bought a couple more goodies!! One Piece Volume 1 – an origin piece of the best-selling manga ever, graded 9.6. Original One Piece production script graded 9.8 (pop 1) where Luffy gets his first wanted poster,” Logan Paul posted.
